Bonjour à tous,
Un rapide coup d'oeil sur les images données sur Internet pour Uther Pendragon me permettent de vous transmettre ceci:
Uther Pendragon, illustration d'Howard Pyle (1903), cf. Wikipedia.
On devine des armoiries sur sa cotte d'armes.
"My father occasionally does research into coats of arms for various associates... he'd come across a book that showed the coat of arms for Satan, King Arthur, Merlin, and others. I've no idea of the book's title or author, however, here are the passages he mentioned. (Cf. http://ricercares.livejournal.com/2007/08/01/).
"Equally numerous are the arms attributed to legendary characters. To King Arthur were assigned both the arms of St Edmund (Azure three Crowns Gold) and Vert a Cross Argent in the first quarter the Virgin holding the Christ Child Gold; and to his father,
Uther Pendragon, Gold two Dragons addorsed [back to back] crowned Gules [red]. Merlin bore Sable semy of Plates [white roundels on a black field] and to the knights of the Round Table were attributed a variety of arms, the heralds being unable to agree on a definitive list".
The Flag of Wales.
"I have studied flags since 1966... While thumbing through an encyclopedia (the F volume, of course) looking for something completely different, I spotted the Flag of Wales and a brief paragraph about its history. Since we were studying the stories of King Arthur in my English Class and
the Welsh Flag was supposedly designed by Arthur's father, Uther Pendragon, I knew this would make a good topic for my paper". (Cf. http://www.midcoast.com/~martucci/flags/designs/Vex.html).
C'est peu, mais si ça peut servir...
